‘Frozen’ actor snatches Trump sign from audience member

“Frozen” actor Timothy Hughes was boiling mad during a curtain call on Broadway when he saw an audience member raise a “Trump 2020” banner – so he snatched it and tossed it aside. Hughes — who plays Pabbie in the hit Disney musical – yanked the pro-Trump sign from the attendee, who was wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap in the front row of the St. James Theatre Wednesday night, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The next day, the actor was unapologetic. “What does it say about our country and politics when a man at the show tonight felt the need to protest Disney’s Frozen on Broadway with a pro-Trump flag??” Hughes wrote Thursday on Instagram “How frightening is it that our show’s messages of love, acceptance, and diversity have become the opposition to supporting Trump?” he added. “The curtain call is a thank you between actors and audience, a final connection to end a shared experience.” He continued: “I will not apologize for how I responded to the disrespectful man trying to interrupt this moment with a pathetic political platform. Not at our show! Not in front of my beautiful, diverse, talented cast at @frozenbroadway. I appreciate everyone’s support.” After the show, another theatergoer said the Trump supporter stood outside the theater and threatened to sue if his banner was not returned, according to the Huffington Post.
