3-week intersection closure at Parliament and Gerrard kicks off today

The intersection of Parliament Road and Gerrard Road East might be closed for 3 weeks starting Monday to permit the town to change the TTC streetcar tracks.  Consequently, drivers are being warned to anticipate delays on the encompassing streets, together with Bloor Road East, Dundas Road East, Jarvis Road and River Road.  The intersection will reopen once more on Monday, June 4 at 6 a.m.  Noisy work might be stopped at 11 p.m. every evening Building will get off to a tough begin, with essentially the most disruptive work — breaking apart and eradicating the concrete that surrounds the tracks — scheduled for the primary few days of the closure. Whereas crews might be engaged on the mission 24 hours a day, seven days every week, noisy concrete work will finish each evening by 11 p.m.  TTC buses that may usually journey by way of the intersection are being re-routed to surrounding streets. You’ll be able to examine their new routes right here.  The 506 Carlton streetcar, which is able to finally use the brand new tracks, has been changed by buses since February because of a streetcar scarcity.  The TTC says the 506 streetcar might be again in late 2018.  http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/parliament-gerrard-closure-1.4661613?cmp=rss
