Islanders clean house, fire coach Doug Weight, GM Garth Snow

The New York Islanders’ newly minted president of hockey operations, Lou Lamoriello, made his first massive splash with the group Tuesday, asserting that basic supervisor Garth Snow and head coach Doug Weight have been fired from their respective roles.  Lamoriello will take over the GM duties and instantly start the method to seek out the staff’s subsequent head coach, the Islanders stated. “The New York Islanders want to thank each Garth and Doug for his or her dedication to the franchise,” Lamoriello was quoted as saying in a press launch. “Each began their tenures with the franchise as gamers and grew as great leaders to the positions they held.”    Each Snow and Weight will reportedly stay with the group.  http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/islanders-fire-coach-gm-1.4692587?cmp=rss
