Ocasio-Cortez to skip Sundance premiere, citing shutdown

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says she will’t attend the Sundance Movie Competition premiere of a documentary she’s starring in due to the federal government shutdown. The congresswoman, who reps Queens and the Bronx, introduced the transfer Saturday. “For nearly two years, a mother adopted a number of ladies as we ran for Congress. I used to be considered one of them,” she tweeted. “Due to issues from the gov shutdown, I’m unhappy to say I’ll miss @jubileefilms’ premiere of Knock Down the Home.” The movie follows 4 feminine congressional candidates throughout final 12 months’s elections.
