‘Avengers: Endgame’ stars remind us half of Marvel’s heroes are dead
It was a Marvel memorial service.
On the “Avengers: Endgame” international press convention Sunday in Los Angeles, comedian e book nerds mourned collectively over the bewildering loss of many Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes, together with Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Imaginative and prescient (Paul Bettany).
Nonetheless standing stars included Brie Larson, Chris Evans and Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle, all of whom took the stage with a row of seven empty chairs behind them.
The vacant seats represented the MCU’s “fallen comrades,” who both died — or disappeared — due to Thanos on the finish of “Infinity Conflict” in 2018.
Actor-director Jon Favreau, who performs Harold “Comfortable” Hogan to Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, was the occasion MC.
“Clearly, issues look a bit completely different in a post-‘Infinity Conflict’ Marvel Cinematic Universe,” stated Favreau to a room full of reporters. “Publish-snap there’s just a few empty seats.”
For blockbuster lovers all over the place, the stunt was a bitter reminder of the approaching conclusion to Avengers’ as we all know it. And, of course, social media is buzzing about it.
ComicBook.com’s Brandon Davis posted a clip of of the second Favreau “launched the #AvengersEndgame press convention in devastating trend, reminding us half of them are dead.”
And whereas most pundits contemplated the that means of life and demise, Kyle “Carpetbagger” Buchanan identified that Chris Evans’ teal velvet trousers had been the occasion’s important Marvel attraction.
