T.I., the Atlanta-based rapper, actor and entrepreneur, and his Grand Hustle co-founder, Jason Geter, are bringing their hip-hop savvy to the tech world. Uninterested in watching others revenue from the Black group, the duo launched Tech Cypha, a syndicated funding car that focuses on early-growth and late-stage start-ups that talk to African-American pursuits. “It’s essential for us to create a self-sustaining ecosystem to guarantee our greenbacks, the Black greenback—which is the strongest shopper base in the nation—circulates and companies the [multiple interests] of our group,” says T.I. Their first funding is in Culture Genesis, an LA-based digital studio focusing on a multicultural city viewers.
