Issa Rae to Star in Romantic Comedy ‘The Lovebirds’

Issa Rae and Kumail Nanijiani have signed on to Paramount’s romantic comedy The Lovebirds, in accordance to the Hollywood Reporter. The film will focus on a pair, performed by Rae and Nanjiani, who’re on the cusp of breaking apart earlier than they get “embroiled in a weird and hijinks-filled homicide thriller, and as they get shut to clearing their names and fixing the case, the twosome want to determine how they, and their relationship, can survive the night time,” writes THR. The Lovebirds might be directed by Michael Showalter, who directed Nanjiani in 2017’s The Huge Sick, and written by Aaron Abrams, Brendan Gall and Martin Gero.
